Events

EASST catalyzes new research partnerships between East African researchers and CEGA faculty to produce rigorous evidence in the region and encourage the translation of research findings into better policy. EASST organizes summits and workshops to match regional researchers with CEGA affiliates based on programmatic interests and scientific expertise, to link social scientists with local decision-makers, and to facilitate connections between researchers and the media.

Held annually in East Africa, the EASST Summit brings together East African researchers, CEGA faculty, former and future Visiting Fellows, policymakers, and media representatives in the region, and helps to disseminate the latest research findings to designers of social programs and policies. The annual event features activities such as brainstorming sessions, networking opportunities, and media outreach training, and provides an invaluable opportunity for a diverse group of researchers to meet, gain new skills, and exchange ideas.
